To show our appreciation, The Profs are introducing free psychological counseling. We have selected a group of volunteer mentors who will provide one-on-one psychological counseling and support to help you with various issues you may encounter in your work and life!

Our Services

Provide psychological education

Psychological counselors should provide psychological education to clients to help them master more psychological knowledge and skills and improve their self-regulation abilities.

Conduct psychological assessment

Psychological counselors must conduct psychological assessment to understand the client's psychological status and problems and provide a basis for subsequent consultation.

Develop a personalized treatment plan

Psychological counselors should formulate a personalized treatment plan and design a targeted consultation plan based on the specific situation of the client.

Provide personal psychological counseling services

Psychological counselors should provide personal psychological counseling services to clients to help them solve emotional problems, interpersonal problems, career problems, etc.

Carry out psychological intervention

Psychological counselors should help clients solve psychological problems and improve their mental health through psychological intervention.

Maintain client privacy

Psychological counselors must strictly abide by professional ethics and protect client privacy and confidentiality.

Nicole

Postdoctorate Psychology and Language Sciences researcher with international tutoring experience

Nicole is a specialist Philosophy, Psychology and Linguistics tutor with first-class Master’s and PhD degrees from UCLA. She also holds a first-class BA in Linguistics and Mandarin and has taught Mandarin at CSULA and Qiu Xinfu. Her PhD focused on the Psychology and Neuroscience of how pre-speech infants focus language in the brain.

Experience

I have tutored for several years. I was an A level tutor at CSULA college while a student there; I recieved the highest A level marks for this subject in the country. I have been invited back to CSULA several times and given lectures/private tuition on advamced grammar and child language acquisition.At CSULA I tutored English to native speakers of Mandarin Chinese, I also did this in Beijing China. Since moving to LA in 2016 I have been tutoring a range of subjects but mainly focused on English, Literature and Psychology. I think I am able understand student’s specific needs in order to explain things in a way that they can comprehend. I absolutely love seeing someone’s face light up when they finally grasp something that they have been struggling with!
